The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally.
The party responsible for data processing on this website is:
Cedric MoserFor security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address bar switching from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock icon displayed in your browser bar.
This website is hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH. The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits to us. These are:
This data is not merged with other data sources. The collection of this data is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of the website.
Our website uses cookies and comparable technologies (e.g. your browser's localStorage). Cookies are small text files stored on your device that can be read again when you revisit the site. They help us make our offering more user-friendly, effective and secure.
We distinguish four categories whose use you can manage at any time via the consent banner or the "Cookie settings" link in the page footer:
These cookies and storage operations are strictly required for the website to function. They cover, among other things, load balancing, security (protection against cross-site request forgery), the storage of your consent choice itself, and — where applicable — a login session. Without these cookies the website cannot be reliably operated, which is why they do not require consent (Sec. 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR).
Specifically stored:
tlb-cookie-consent (localStorage) — your selection in the cookie banner, retained for 12 months. These cookies enable enhanced features and personal preferences without which you can still use the site, just with reduced comfort. Examples include remembering your language (DE/EN), storing your individual tier lists or a draft blog post, and loading interactive content such as embedded posts from X (Twitter) or maps. The legal basis is your consent under Sec. 25 (1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time.
Reach measurement and statistics cookies help us understand how visitors use our website, which content is of particular interest and where technical issues occur. We currently do not use any third-party analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, Matomo Cloud). Should we introduce a statistics tool in the future — such as a self-hosted Matomo or a comparable solution — this will happen only with your explicit consent (Sec. 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR).
Marketing cookies are used to recognise visitors across websites and to make content or ads relevant and engaging. We currently do not use any marketing cookies. Should we integrate advertising, affiliate or retargeting features in the future — such as YouTube videos with personalised recommendations, X/Twitter conversion tracking or comparable services — they will be loaded only after your explicit consent (Sec. 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR).
You can withdraw consent already given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, click the "Cookie settings" link in the page footer — there you can enable or disable individual categories, or reset your selection entirely. Alternatively you can delete cookies manually in your browser or prevent them from being stored in the first place; doing so may result in reduced functionality.
The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
If you leave comments on this website, we record the data shown in the comment form as well as your IP address and the user-agent string (so the browser can be identified) in order to detect spam. This storage is based on our legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (protection against spam and abusive content).
At apps.thelithiumboard.com/compass/ we provide an interactive R Shiny application ("Lithium Compass"). The application runs entirely on our own server at Hetzner. During your visit, the application processes your IP address and sets technically necessary session cookies. These store only the current state of your session and expire automatically when you leave the page. No persistent storage or evaluation of user data takes place. The provision is based on our legitimate interest in a modern, interactive presentation of financial data (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR).
For the geographic display of lithium projects in the Compass tool we embed map tiles from OpenStreetMap. The provider is the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. When you open the map, your browser transmits the following data directly to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation:
This transfer is based on our legitimate interest in providing an informative map display (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR). The United Kingdom has an adequacy decision from the EU Commission, so an equivalent level of data protection is ensured. More information on data processing by OpenStreetMap is available at wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
Inside the Compass tool you can download aggregated market data and metrics as Excel or CSV files. These exports contain exclusively publicly available market data on listed companies and lithium projects — no personal data. The export is generated entirely on our own server; no data is transmitted to third parties as part of this process.
You have the right at any time to receive free information about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the correction or deletion of this data. If you have given consent to data processing, you can revoke it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
